Our 2016 GALA celebrates two beloved people who have made an indelible mark on Vineyard Theatre and the New York theatre community.

Kathleen Chalfant is one of the theatre’s finest actresses, from her extraordinary performances on stage in the original productions of ANGELS IN AMERICA, WIT, and TALKING HEADS, to memorable television and film roles in “The Affair,” “House of Cards,” Kinsey, and more. Offstage, Kathleen is a vital advocate and activist in the New York theatre community: in addition to 20 years of service to The Vineyard on our Board of Directors where she was recently elected Board President, Kathleen is a strong advocate for small New York theatres and sits on the Board of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Sam Rudy is one of the theatre’s leading press agents, and has served as The Vineyard’s representative for 25 of his 35 years in the industry. He has shepherded the premieres of HOW I LEARNED TO DRIVE, THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, and AVENUE Q, as well as Broadway’s HAMILTON, PASSING STRANGE and WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? among others. His accomplishments are fueled by his love for theatre and belief in the artists with whom he works.

Both Sam and Kathleen have worked tirelessly and brilliantly in this community, and we are thrilled to honor their dedication, talent and heart.
